In the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, you’ll find Pinnacle Mountain State Park– Situated in Roland, Arkansas. Upon arrival, I didn’t expect much from this trail up to the mountain’s top. But as we walked on and became emerged by the trees and the smell of nature I realized that this might be my favorite day in Arkansas yet. Despite me being entirely too unfit for my liking- once we got to the top we had timed it perfectly. Nothing accentuates a sunset quite as exceptionally as a mass of water for it to reflect upon. Your view solely consisting of green lands and orange waters.
I hiked to the top twice, using two different routes. And even when the sun was not tainting the waters the view was still worth it!
*But if you decide to watch the sunset start your descent as soon as possible to avoid having to find your way down in the dark.
